Nowadays birthmarks and tattoo removal are most commonly performed by using lasers. However before treatment you should consult a doctor to make the right diagnosis, and decide the number of sessions required to achieve optimal results upon the kind of birthmark. The number of sessions are usually around 6 to 10 times, but with some unusual birthmark in which melanocytes are found deeper than normal might requires 20 sessions. Most birthmarks do fade or disappear after multiple sessions oflaser treatment.

The effect of laser removal of the tattoo largely depends upon the body area, colours used and the artists who made them. The amount of time required for the removal of a tattoo and the success of the removal varies with each individual. For laser removal of eyebrows or eyeliners tattoo, it usually takes 2-3 sessions, while body tattoo might requires more treatment sessions for clearance.
