Thread Lifting

As you get older, the appearance and shape of your face is altered because of normal age-related changes. Your skin becomes less elastic and looser, and fat deposits decrease in some areas of your face and increase in others. A facelift is a cosmetic surgical operation that can help us look younger and more refreshed, by removing unwanted wrinkles and lifting the face’s skin, muscles, and soft tissues.

Thread lifting is a revolutionary treatment that rejuvenates, regenerates and improves the structure of the face, in a similar way to a surgical facelift, but without the need for surgery. Different lengths and thicknesses of thread are used for different areas of the face. Short strands of threads can be used to treat fine lines around the eyes, while thicker strands can be used to lift skin folds. Longer threads can use to correct and lift the neck and jawline.

Aptos Visage Excellence

Aptos is combination of surgical threads and methods of installation, which has been invented by Dr. Marlen Sulamanidze in 1996 and developed by Dr. George and Konstantin Sulamanidze. Aptos thread lifting is a popular procedure to achieve facial and body refreshment and improve refreshment and improve skin quality without having to undergo surgery and the problem of scarring.

Visage Excellence is a Universal resorbable surgical thread with multidirectional, specially designed barbs. The unique feature enhances the force of tissue holding. Multidirectional barbs can distribute, stress and hold soft tissues stronger after insertion. There is a need of minimum of downtime and results are evident immediately after the procedure, and can last from 18 to 24 months.

PDO thread lifting is suitable for:

  • vertical and horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes and temples, nasolabial folds (nose to mouth) and marionette (corner of mouth to chin) folds;
  • lower face laxity (jowls and marionette lines) ;
  • drooping cheeks and brows;
  • sagging jawline, double chin and neck;
  • facial contouring and enhancing V-shaped face;
  • improving overall skin texture and elasticity.

Combining with Minimally Invasive Facelift Techniques

Thread lift facelift primarily uses absorbable threads inserted into the skin to stimulate collagen production, achieving an immediate lifting effect. However, some areas may not achieve the desired tightness with just a thread lift alone. In these cases, combining with a minimally invasive facelift surgery can significantly enhance the facial lifting results.

Minimally invasive facelift, is a modified facelift procedure that is minimally invasive and promotes speedier recovery time. It utilizes meticulous techniques to improve early signs of skin loosening or sagging of the deeper tissues. Surgical incisions are significantly smaller than those seen in traditional procedures, and are meticulously hidden within the natural creases of the face. This procedure is highly customizable and allows for individual fine-tuning to each patient’s individual facial architecture and specific problem areas, it can be performed under local anaesthesia and is considered a very safe procedure.

Micro-Mini Jowl Lift

The Micro-Mini Jowl Lift is a small-incision procedure to help firm the jawline and improve drooping in the neck. It is a modified version of the traditional facelift, by making smaller incisions around the earlobe to help lift the lower half of the face and correct sagging skin. It can create a rejuvenating effect on the cheek regions and the jowls while reducing post-op recovery time and procedure complications. The Micro-Mini Jowl Lift is an effective option for reducing signs of aging on the face and neck regions and usually involves tightening not only the skin, but also underlying fat, muscle, and the SMAS (i.e. sub or superficial muscular and aponeurotic system, a sheet of muscle and connective tissue on the cheek that contributes to facial expression.

Over time, the SMAS can become lax and sag, contributing to jowls and deepening of the nasolabial folds). The Micro-Mini Jowl Lift repositions skin and the underlying muscle of the lower cheek to more adequately correct jowls and skin laxity. But a traditional SMAS face lift does not significantly address the nasolabial area (around the nose and mouth) or a sagging malar fat pad (upper cheek fat pad). Micro-Mini Jowl Lift also improves neck sagging, reduce the appearance of double chin, and has a rejuvenating effect on the cheek area and jawline. It can avoid damaging facial nerve and blood vessels and the wound is smaller, which greatly improve safety and reducing risk.

Micro-Mini Midface lift

A Micro-Mini Midface Lift repositions the cheek skin and muscle vertically towards the eyes. This is used for someone who has lost fullness in the upper cheek area due to descent of the tissues.  Aging of the midface is a complex aesthetic problem requiring an individualized and multifaceted surgical approach. The objective of harmonious rejuvenation of the entire face as well as increasing patient interest in midface rejuvenation mandates surgical familiarity with these techniques. Midface rejuvenation procedures have evolved from traditional laterally based rhytidectomy techniques with superolateral elevation to modern centrofacial approaches designed to achieve more vertical vectors of elevation. These approaches are informed by an evolving understanding of the multiple processes that contribute to the aged appearance of the midface and are based on lower blepharoplasty surgical techniques.

Micro-Mini Midface Lift, the small minimally invasive incision is stored in the traditional lower eye bag surgery incision, which can solve the problem of mid-face sagging and eye bags or tear grooves at the same time, and can remove excess loose skin and even out muscles. This minimally invasive combined mid-face surgery involves deep epiperiosteal detachment, so the correction of nasolabial folds and apple cheek sagging is quite remarkable, suitable for people who wish to remove eyebags, and improve loose skin on face all at one time.

Post-operative care of minimally invasive facelift

Post-operative care of minimally invasive facelifts is relatively simple. Wear a special mask on the day of surgery and keep it for 1-2 weeks to avoid postoperative swelling and help reduce swelling.

To help reduce swelling, apply ice 4-6 times a day for 10 minutes each time for 1 week after surgery, avoid drinking water before going to bed, and sleep with your pillow elevated. For the next two weeks, avoid eating spicy or irritating food, drinking alcohol and smoking is prohibited, and should not consume traditional Chinese medicine / health food or aspirin to reduce the chance of wound inflammation or hematoma.

Other face lift methods

In addition to the minimally invasive facelift, there are over a dozen different techniques to lift your face. It is, however, hard to know which one is right for you. A thoughtful discussion and careful examination with our surgeon will help determine which approach that could restore your youthful appearance.
