Attractive calves are desirable to people of all cultures, a large calf may be considered an aesthetic problem by women who find it awkward wearing clothes like short skirts. Relative to Europeans, the average Asian person is of a short stature and their calf tends to be shorter and thicker, and bulky calves can make short legs look even shorter. The calves can become too large due to genetics and excess fat tissue, but it can be developed through physical training exercise or improper posture.
There may simply be an excessive fatty deposits in this area, bulking up the calves and making them look big. Lower level of physical activity may lead to excess fat content of the calf. Fatty deposits in the calves and ankles can be difficult to improve with just diet and exercise.
